Your Questions, Answered.

I’ve never done anything like this before… is boudoir really for me?
Indeed every woman has a first shoot and most of the women in our portfolio felt exactly the same. You don’t need experience, confidence, or a particular body type, just curiosity. Boudoir at Elland-Vee isn’t about pretending to be someone else; it’s about rediscovering who you already are, seen through a refined and respectful lens.
If you're feeling like you want to regain something, to rediscover yourself then boudoir may well be for you. Why not give it a try?

I’m not confident in front of the camera, what if I feel awkward?
That’s completely normal, and honestly, completely expected. It's not exactly a natural thing for a lot of people to stand and smile in front of a camera.
But really, don't worry, you don't have to know how. You’ll be gently guided throughout the entire session from posture and posing to expression and movement. Nothing is rushed, nothing is forced. Confidence isn’t required when you arrive but it is something most clients leave with.
What should I wear to my boudoir shoot?
You’ll receive a full preparation guide after booking, plus the opportunity to discuss styling during your discovery call. Some clients choose lingerie, others prefer knitwear, shirts, tailoring, or implied looks. This is about your comfort level. elegance always comes before exposure.
I’m worried about how my images will look, do you retouch them?
Yes, some light retouching of images is done but carefully and tastefully. All final images receive professional retouching to refine skin tone, lighting, soften distractions, and present the best version of you. I very seriously dislike the whole plastic, over-edited look and will never do any major body reshaping to produce something "fake".
The aim is to preserve you, and show you just how incredible and beautiful you are, as you are.
Can I bring someone with me to the session?
This is a deeply personal experience, and for most clients, attending alone allows them to fully relax and immerse themselves in the moment. However, this can be discussed during your consultation if you have specific concerns.
Is it strange having a male boudoir photographer?
This is a very common question, and an important one. The first thing to know is that Matt is a photographer and artist, his main focus is on creating your perfect vision of yourelf. With decades of experience photographing women respectfully, Elland-Vee sessions are led with absolute professionalism, empathy, a focus on form, light, strength, self-expression and sensuality over sexuality.
Will my images be shared online or used for marketing?
Your photos are for you and your privacy wishes are paramount. I would only ever share any image with your explicit permission. Some clients understandably choose to keep their images completely private whereas others are proud to share. The decision is always yours and always fully respected.
Where does the shoot take place?
The whole experience from makeover to photo shoot and even your image reveal take place in my private, calm, beautifully prepared studio environment designed to feel safe, unhurried, and discreet. Full details are shared once your booking is confirmed.
How long does a boudoir session last?
Sessions typically last between 2–4 hours depending on your confidence level, allowing time to settle in, enjoy your makeover, change outfits, and explore different looks without pressure. This is not a conveyor belt experience, it’s intentionally unhurried to allow you the chance to grow into your new comfort zone.
What happens after the shoot?
You’ll be invited back for a personal Reveal session usually around two weeks after your experience, where you will see your images for the first time. This can be an emotional and affirming moment and I'll be honest, you're going to be nervous but excited to see yourself once more. From there, you can choose the images to be included in your folio, upgrade to include additional products from our a la carte range of luxury albums, wall art, or digital collections.
How do I know which collection is right for me?
That’s exactly what the discovery call is for. We’ll talk through where you are, what you’re hoping to feel, and how you’d like to enjoy your images, then guide you toward the collection that best fits your intentions.
How do I get started?
Simply book a discovery call. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure conversation where you can ask anything, say anything, and explore whether this experience feels right for you.And if you’re here reading this… you probably already know the answer, right?
